![]() I think having all drivers, firmware, etc up to date is a must to make sure all works well in W7. Called WD and they are suppose to be sending me a new CD. We moved and am trying to reinstall it on my new network and am getting the undefined buttons from the installation CD. I had the My Book World Edition installed just fine a few months ago. Next step is to check for an update to the NAS firmware, to make sure all hardware is up to date. I am now getting the same problem with my Windows Vista laptop. It could be the case as I can now see all computers on my network with the same workgroup from the W7 machine (using a "work" network setup on the W7 machine) Just a qualification: I had done an update of the firmware of my router (D-link DIR655 Extreme N) the night before, so I don't know for sure whether this contributed to the solution or not. I can now add network drives at will and access all my shares from W7. ![]() Once done, I rebooted and finally my NAs drive showed up. I kept digging into the forum and here is the answer: I wrote the username and password used on the W7 machine and create them as a user on NAS drive and a local user on any other computer where you want to access a shared folder (password should not be blank), giving them permissions on the shared resources.
